When and where are the games played?
All AYSO games are
played on Saturdays, the season starts the second Saturday of September for 9
weeks and picking up again in the spring on the second Saturday of May for
another 9 weeks. Makeup games will either be on a Sunday afternoon or coaches
may elect to make them up on a week night.
For teams not
playing inter-regionally (Usually Under 10 year old teams) their games are all
played at our home fields.
.Teams playing
inter-regionally (older team Under 12 and up) may play at several different
regions in the Wichita area.

What does inter-regionally mean?
Inter-regional
teams are teams from one region that plays teams from other regions.
Why do we have
inter-regional teams?
The main reason for
inter-regional teams is because one or more regions may not have enough teams
for that age group.
For a team to play
a different team each week they may have to travel to another region to play
some of their games.

Where and when are my child's practices?
This is one of the
most asked questions, and the hardest to answer.
Practices are left
up to the coach. So until your child is put on a team and is given a coach, I
can't give you an answer.
One way to find
this answer is to volunteer yourself to be a coach, then you can have practice
when and where you want it.
Check out About us to find out more about volunteering and how much
time it takes to be a coach. And we do train all our coaches for free.

What does U6, U8, U10, etc. mean?
The U that is in
front of the number stands for Under, as in Under 8 years old. Teams are made
up of kids all within a couple of years old of each other. Example: A U10 team
may have kids ranging in age from 8 to 10, depending on when their birthday was
as of August 1st. Some times there may be a younger child on the
team that is playing up because an older brother /sister is on the team. This
has to be OK'd with the registrar before a child can play up.

What is a short-sided game and what are the rules?
All teams Under 12
years old now play short-sided games. The younger the player the fewer players
on a team and on the field. This is to give those players more playing time and
allow them to develop their skills. Click here to learn more about short-sided games and their rules.

I don't know any thing about soccer?
Join the majority
of our parents, coaches and volunteers. When we ask for someone to volunteer to
coach this is the #1 reply that we get. In our region 90% of our volunteers
never even touched a soccer ball until they volunteered. We do train all our
volunteers at no charge to you. We provide coaching and referee books and laws
of the game. Referees even get a free uniform. We have coach and referee
administrators whom will help you if you still have questions. Plus you can
check out the National
AYSO web site for more information on coaching
and refereeing.
